Representative Capriglione, R-Southlake is slated as the new chairman of the Texas House Appropriations Committee. The House Appropriations Committee is the most important panel in the lower chamber, working with the Texas Senate Finance Committee to write the state’s two-year budgets.
“As a longtime member of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Capriglione has been a dedicated steward of our state’s financial resources and his contributions to the budget-writing process have been significant,” House Speaker Bonnen said in a statement.
Rep. Capriglione fills the role left vacant by Rep. John Zerwas, who joined the University of Texas System as executive vice-chancellor.
