They're Here! Bills Eliminating Tenure, DEI & CRT

TACT reported earlier that Lt. Governor Dan Patrick's top priorities for the 88th Texas Legislative Session which included topics that greatly affect not only our members, but also the rigor of Texas Higher Education.

On Friday, March 10, these bills were officially filed.

• Senate Bill 16 – Banning Critical Race Theory (CRT) in Higher Education

• Senate Bill 17 – Banning Discriminatory “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” (DEI) Policies in Higher Education

• Senate Bill 18 – Eliminating Tenure at General Academic Institutions
