Higher Education Coordinating Board Commissioner Paredes Resigns this August
Commissioner Raymund Paredes is resigning from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in August, but promises to remain active in public policy. Paredes has been a stout advocate for investing in higher education at the Texas Legislature over the past 15 years. “I don’t think a lot of members of the Legislature understand the cost of delivering higher education has increased enormously,” Paredes said in a Daily Texan article this week.
For his involvement with the 86th Legislature, his last as Commissioner, Paredes will focus on increasing base funding, outcomes-based funding and TEXAS Grant funding. Read the full article.
